Employer Matching Gift Programs
Employer matching is a type of philanthropy that businesses take part in to match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. According to Double the Donation, when it comes to employer matching, an estimated $4-$7 billion in matching funds go unclaimed annually in the United States. A large part of why these funds go unclaimed is because 78% of match-eligible donors have no idea that their employer offers a match. When you make a donation to a MidwayUSA Foundation team or organizational endowment, there’s a chance your employer may match your contribution. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio! See if your work will match your next donation, by searching for your employer using the tool on your team’s donation form! Head to Find A Team. Fund A Team, to search for your favorite youth shooting team. Once on their team page, click the “donate now” button to view the donation form. On the form, directly above the Payment Details, you can search for your employer and see if they offer a match!
Matching Overload!
Taking advantage of your employer’s nonprofit matching program is a fast and easy way to grow your local youth shooting team’s endowment. When you donate to a youth shooting team and receive a match from your employer, BOTH your contribution and your work’s contribution will qualify to be matched by the MidwayUSA Foundation’s current Matching Program. For example, if you donate $500 to a youth shooting team and request a match from your employer, and they match it 1:1, they will also gift $500. Then the Foundation’s Matching Program will match BOTH contributions resulting in $2,000 in total growth for that team’s endowment. In 2023, we are matching donations to teams 1:1!
