2023 Coach Training Grants
Qualified coaches are an integral piece to the expansion of youth shooting sports. To continue providing more opportunities for our youth in shooting sports, we offer competitive grants to fund the certification and training of more coaches. This year is our third consecutive year of conducting this grant program. In 2023, 52 cash grants have been awarded for a total payout of $250,000. These funds will directly assist like-minded organizations in collectively certifying and training about 1,625 shooting sports coaches. In addition, over 2,000 youth shooting teams will benefit, which supports over 30,000 athletes across the nation. USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USA YESS) is one of our agency endowment holders, and they’ve utilized our coach training grants for the past three years. Brian Beard, President of USA YESS, said the following about the Coach Training Grant Program.
“The Foundation’s Coach Training Grant Program has been instrumental in allowing us to train and certify more coaches for our shooting teams. Coaches and volunteers in our programs have also been very grateful for the grants. This is mainly due to the funds making the training more convenient and efficient. The more trained coaches we have, the faster youth shooting sports will grow! We are excited to be a part of it and can’t thank the Foundation enough!”
– Brian Beard, President of USA YESS
In addition to nearly 2,800 youth shooting team endowments, we fund over 70 state and national youth shooting sports organizations through Agency and Donor Designated endowments. These organizations, including USA YESS, SCTP, SASP, ATA, NCSSAA, ACUI, and more, are eligible for the Coach Training Grant Program. Youth shooting teams interested in certifying and training their coaches should contact their state, regional, or national organizations. Find a list on this Partner Community Page. The Coach Training Grant cycle runs from February 1 to March 1. See this year’s grant recipients with the link below!
